Between 5 and 10 percent of mammogram results are abnormal and require more testing (more mammograms, fine needle aspiration, ultrasound, or biopsy), and most of the follow-up tests confirm that no cancer was present.
I hope I will be the 5-10%. I just got the call from my doctor that the results from my first-ever mammogram and ultrasound shown “something not very good”. Actually, I have start to feel suspicious on Wednesday, when the ultrasound technician started to do some markings and print-outs. Now my suspicious is confirmed, and I have make appointment to see a breast doctor on Monday.
